"The Welcome Table: A Place Has Been Prepared for You" is the theme of a Woman's Prayer Breakfast given by the Women of St. Simon of Cyrene and St. Christopher Episcopal Church on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Christopher Episcopal Church, 3550 South Loop 820, Fort Worth, Texas, 76133.
The Rev. Winnie Varghese, member of the Executive Council of The Episcopal Church and priest in charge at St. Mark's Church in the Bowery in New York City, is the speaker.
Since March 2009, the Rev. Varghese has been the Priest in Charge at St. Mark's Church in the Bowery in NYC. From 2002-2009, she was the Episcopal Chaplain at Columbia University. She was the Episcopal Chaplain at UCLA and Assistant to the Rector at St. Alban’s in Westwood (Los Angeles) from 1999-2002. She serves on the Executive Council of the Episcopal Church (2006-2012) and is the Vice-Chair of the Board of the Episcopal Service Corps as an alumnus of the Episcopal Urban Intern Program in Los Angeles. She received a M. Div. from Union Theological Seminary in 2009 and a B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1994. She is featured in the teaching series, "Living the Question", and blogs for the Huffington post.
