Fr. Stanford speaks up

I don't know exactly why I'm having so much fun as an Episcopalian. Perhaps its because I'm working with people who are ready to meet the world where it is, and share their joy in all manner of settings. Maybe it's because we've walked through the worst and are rejoicing in the new birth and new possibilities that come out of that. Maybe it's because I've finally said, "I'm glad to be one of those weird Episcopalians who seem to be buttoned down and off the chain all at the same time."

There used to be ready-made press releases you could buy that were titled "Those Crazy Episcopalians." I love that. We march to a different drummer. We love Christ and our neighbor in ways that are disturbing to others. What else could one ask?
