Nurturing the innate spirituality of children

The Diocesan Christian Formation Committee is inviting those with a passion for children’s Christian formation to meet on Saturday October 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 5001 Crestline Road, Fort Worth. The goal is to convene a diocesan children’s formation group to parallel the excellent adult formation work already being done with the diocesan Lenten Series and other events as well as encourage parishes to have children’s programs ready BEFORE children walk in the door.

The Rev. Christopher Jambor will lead a Godly Play introduction and demonstration. Sabrina Evans, Director of Christian Education for the Diocese of Oklahoma, will also be a presenter. Her topic is "Children's Christian Formation on a Budget" and she describes it thusly: "Would you like to see inexpensive, user friendly children's programs for parishes with no or few children? Do you want a jump start to begin such a program? How about weaving CGS and Godly Play presentations for use in small parishes? This will be your workshop! We will talk about holy hospitality for our youngest saints, look at free curriculum, see presentations in a box, and talk of ways to make it work on a budget. The final presenter is Melanie Wright, whose topic is "Catachesis of the Good Sheperd."
