New pews for Christ the King
Christ the King has new pews to go in their freshly repainted space in the Fellowship Hall of St. Giles Presbyterian Church. The pews are on loan from the Episcopal Church in Parker County.

The pews were purchased for St. Paul's Episcopal Church (Lubbock) in the Diocese of Northwest Texas and remained there for many years. They were then moved to St. Matthias' Episcopal Church in Lamesa, Texas. St. Matthias' was closed sometime in the last ten years. In 2004 Santa Maria Virgen, Iglesia Episcopal, a Hispanic mission and outreach center, was begun in Midland. The pews were then moved to Santa Maria and have remained there until their move to the Diocese of Ft. Worth this week. Santa Maria is merging with a larger congregation for worship so the pews are not needed there any longer. However, the "Jubilee" center will remain open to serve the poor. "Before we left Midland with the pews, the Rev. Josie Rose prayed with us asking God to bless our sharing of these holy items for the extension of God's kingdom. We thank God and our brothers and sisters in the Diocese of Northwest Texas for their generosity and may God bless the use of the pews at Christ the King Episcopal Church and her sister church, the Episcopal Church in Parker County."
