Episcopal Studies Program at Brite Divinity School
Much planning and preparation have taken place to launch the Episcopal Studies Program on
the TCU campus at Brite Divinity School. Weekly Eucharists are already being conducted at Robert Carr
Chapel. These Eucharists take place on Wednesdays and begin at
12:15 p.m.
The first course, entitled Special Topics: The Book of Common Prayer, is set to launch next semester, Spring-2010. Instructor for the course is David R. Brockman, Ph.D. of St. Luke’s in the Meadow Episcopal Church in Fort Worth. Click here for a complete course description. If you are interested in auditing the course, the deadline for application is mid-November. Click on the link to the right to download an audit application, and return it with your payment to Brite Divinity School.

Sloshing through the puddles to arrive at Carr Chapel, we were wonderfully surprised that Rev.
Maurine "Mo" Lewis was celebrating. Fred Barber slated Mo to be the first woman priest to be
our spiritual shepherd in the series of Wednesday 12:15 p.m. Eucharists that he is coordinating.
Yes, it was drear and raining on October 21, but the celebrant was radiant.

"What is your name?" Fr. Bill Stanford must have quietly asked the first person taking communion.
It became apparent when each successive person softly spoke a first name as he moved around the standing
semi-circle of folks. Fr. Bill spoke each person’s name and added
"the body of Christ" as he placed
the host in each person’s out-stretched hands.
